Bill Clinton is being scrutinized in front of the public eye once again. The Supreme Court suspended him from practicing law before the high court on Monday.
When I played soccer in middle school, if our team was up by four or five goals and the other team was showing no signs of making a rally, my coach would tell us we could only score goals off our heads for the rest of the game, in a gesture of respect.
Bill Clinton is losing his game, he is showing no signs of picking up his play, yet his opponents continue to smother him with shots.
The former president has been given 40 days notice to argue the Supreme Court’s decision to permanently disbar him. Clinton plans to plead his case, although court observers said that a suspension like this almost always results in a permanent disbarment.
Hasn’t Bill Clinton’s reputation been pummeled enough? Is someone keeping score here?
It is about time to lay off the guy. This action being taken is only kicking Bill when he is down. Clinton has never personally argued before the court, so this is all more symbolic then anything else.
Almost a year ago it was assumed that the American people would not have to listen to any more of this.
But no … there will be no end to the attacks on Bill Clinton; he is forever hunted.
Quite frankly I just feel sorry for the guy. I do not condone anything that he did, nor do I respect him for blatantly lying to the public.
Still, being President of the United States has to rank up there with one of the most stressful jobs imaginable, and I feel Clinton did a relatively good job over his eight years of service. I think he deserves to live a normal life for a while and not have to worry about his next court appearance every few months.
In the next 40 days, we will see Bill Clinton scrap to preserve any dignity and respect he can muster to overrule the disbarment. He will be the first former president to be disbarred if the Supreme Court ignores his objection.
Bill Clinton does not deserve to be embarrassed more then he already has been. The man made some mistakes, and it took some time, but he fessed up to them.
Isn’t it about time for all of us to just let this go?
