In the past few weeks, Martha Cooley has been crunching a lot of numbers. As director of study abroad, Cooley is responsible for keeping track of students who spend time abroad during their years at Guilford. Along with Miriam Collins, assistant director, Cooley has compiled data regarding the percentage of students in each of the past few graduating classes who have studied abroad. In addition, they have figured out how many students have been abroad each semester, whether or not they traveled with a Guilford program.
Previous Guilfordian articles have discussed the possibility that the college is considering significant changes to the study abroad program. However, some of the statistics cited in these articles were incorrect. The charts printed here will provide students with a more accurate and more complete picture of the current state of study abroad.
