The criteria for selecting section editors include, in no particular order .1. Solid character demonstrated by history of ethical decision making and firm morals.
2. Sensitivity towards and awareness of different minorities and communities on campus (i.e. African-Americans, athletes, Guilford conservatives).
3. Solid mastery of the English Language (both written and verbal).
4. Previous journalism experience (Guilfordian a plus).
5. Willingness/ability to express intelligent dissent in group-decisions.
6. Willingness/ability to cooperate in working toward a resolution, compromising when
necessary but without violating personal moral code.
7. Diplomatic relations (ability to talk with dissatisfied readers, writers; listen and respond to concerns; provide explanations for decisions when necessary).
Specialized skills (i.e. photography, layout experience, etc.) will also be considered.
