Wed., Sept. 25-Community Senate announced tonight at their weekly meeting that they will hold elections this coming Tuesday for certain Senate positions that remain open.Positions to be contested on Tuesday include two openings for Bryan Hall, one Transfer Student Rep. and two openings to jointly represent the Student Apartments and Alternative Housing.
Senate decided at its meeting last week that the 17 students who submitted their petitions by the original filing deadline of Aug. 31 will keep their positions. The ballots for the elections next Tuesday will feature candidates who filed their petitions after the Aug. 31 deadline.
The election was to have included two openings for academic representatives, but these positions were dropped from the ballot when the pool of candidates shrunk from four to two. Senate decided that the remaining candidates, Hannah Winkler and Donald Flick, will serve in those positions.
Bethany Stubbs, who had been running for Acamedic Rep., decided instead to occupy the one remaining opening for Milner hall, joining Chris Lett, Ivan Mihailou, and Steven Wheeler as the representatives for that dorm.
Katie Abney, the other student who had filed for Academic Rep., decided to remove her name from consideration.
Elections will be held in Founders Lobby from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
