Dan Day , sophomore, accounting I played in the golf tournament; I sat myself around this place, and got drunk. And I was extraordinarily pissed at the lack of television channels.
Christopher Imms, junior, theatre studies
I read an entire book by Clive Cussler and did homework for a theatre class and slept. I went to the highlands of North Carolina with friends for four days. My favorite moment was reading on a porch and listening to a river bubble fifty feet away.
Sarah Waldron, sophomore, SOAN
I went to ‘Hostel in the Forest’ in Brunswick, Georgia, and blissfully used composting toilets, recycling showers, enjoyed heady nudity and dank vegetarian food with a community of individuals dedicated to preserving the environment. Oh, and I ventured to the city of Savannah to enjoy the drunken celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
Byron Lewis, Access Services Assistant at Hege Library
I didn’t get a break. I worked at the library, 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. And then on the weekend I got this. [Indicates hickey on neck]
Barbara Yellock, CCE, Early Education
I had to work a part-time job and a full- time job. I got to take one day to visit my daughter in Maryland, but mostly I just worked. The best part was not having to come to classes at night. [I didn’t] know what to do with myself; I’m usually working, working, working. It was just good to take a few minutes to relax.
Connie Carringer, sophomore, music and political science
I traveled to Argentina and visited family and friends; then I saw one of the natural wonders of the world – the Eguazu Falls.
