Guilford’s men’s basketball team won against Randolph-Macon on Jan, 31, thanks to an 87-foot shot at the buzzer by sophomore guard Jordan Snipes, who had a career-high 34 points during the game. The Guilfordian was able to catch Snipes in between an interview with CNN and ESPN and spoke with him about his one-in-a-million shot:
Guilfordian: How did it feel to make that shot?
Snipes: It was crazy. I didn’t expect it to go in. I knew it was on line, but I didn’t know it had the distance or anything.
Guilfordian: You were a high school qaurterback?
Snipes: Yeah, I didn’t know I could throw a basketball that far. I guess throwing the football around for four years helped out.
The final score was 91-89.
