9 – Total turnovers by the Quaker Quick Defense in a 42-21victory over Catholic last Saturday. Junior Jordan Nelson snatched 4 interceptions for 70 yards, and Senior Richie Paul collected 13 total tackles. Nelson’s interception count: 8. Paul’s tackle total: 67. 18 – Points and 13 rebounds by senior Tyler Sanborn in Guilford basketball’s preseason scrimmage against Queens University. The Quakers won 2 of 3 20-minute periods, and will tip-off their season against Methodist College on Nov. 17.
2.20 – Second-difference between senior swimmer Justine Merritt’s “100 Back” time, and the second-place time at Guilford’s 64-31 win over Hollins last Saturday. Guilford’s 200 Medley Relay was victorious with a 2:16.74 time.
38.6 – Points-per-game scored by Miami Heat guard Dwayne “Flash” Wade in the team’s first 7 games of the 2009-10 season. No surprise, the next-best points-per-game leaders are LeBron “King” James with 37.7 and Kobe Bryant with 36.1.
I did a few things different this week. Take out what you think is stupid. – bold numbers, Quaker Quick Defense, and the nicknames. Kobe Bryant’s nickname is “Black Mamba” but I’m not sure if that fit.
