Listening to this album feels like sitting in a jazz bar… but better. It is personal and full of soul. Imagine a string of blues-y, socially charged tracks with a twinge of garage rock thrown in. The majority of the album is somber and slow although some songs (like “Greasy Grass” and “Raven”) pick up a bit. Vocalist Jessica Larrabee’s raw sound and haunting lyrics will surely stay in the back of your mind all day.
