Senate Update
In our first week back of Senate, we were able to have a discussion with Academic Affairs involving topics ranging from new majors to security cameras on campus. Academic Affairs works with credit and non-credit educational opportunities for students. The two most recent initiatives that Academic Affairs has been working on are general-education curriculum revision, which should take about two years, and new majors. One of the possible new majors presented at Senate was the sustainable food systems major. Credits for this major would include work in and outside the classroom. In a concluding discussion of security cameras on campus, some people said they liked the idea of security cameras on campus and would feel safer, while others feel they are unnecessary.
