We discussed Hege library construction projects during our last Senate meeting. The second floor of the library is currently being renovated into a teaching, learning and research space. The plan is for this space to become two adjoining spaces: an experimental and a collaborative space. The funding that is allowing Guilford College to make these renovations is the Andrew W. Mellon grant, which is a $100,000 grant given to a qualifying liberal arts school. Along with the discussion of the new space, we also discussed ways to improve the academic technology throughout campus and in the library.
