During the three-week session this semester, senior Theo Baker participated in the Social Justice in the Southern U.S. study away course. “It was incredible to see all the radical work people were doing over the South. In a place that is often dismissed, it was so wonderful to see communities taking care of each other.”

Whether you have been or are currently abroad, we would love to see trip photos. Please email the photos to The Guilfordian at guilfordian@guilford.edu with information about the image and where and when you studied.

During the three-week semester, senior Theo Baker participated in the Social Justice in the Southern U.S. study away course. The course traveled to various cities in the south to explore pressing social justice issues and learned how local community-based groups address these issues. This mural is outside Workers’ Dignity, a worker-led organizing center for economic justice.
